Estimation of waste electrical and electronic equipment(WEEE) generation and establishment of a recovery network in Shanghai
|
Abstract:
The Uncapacitated Facility Location Problem (UFCLP) Model was used to establish a model of a waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) recovery network in Shanghai. In order to get the basic data needed to solve the UFCLPmodel, obsolete volumes of color TVs,refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and PCs in Shanghai were estimated. The total volume of the 5 items may increase from 2.69 million units in 2010 to 6.35 million units in 2017. Altogether,214 sites were selected as candidate locations based on the GDP,population density and area, and 10 sites were chosen through running of UFCLP Model, the model was solved and the resulted in map by software SITATION. Around 76% WEEE in Shanghai can be collected through successful implementation of the network. The establishment of the network is an example for the Yangtze River Delta Area and even for the large and medium-sized cities all over the country.
