The relationship between partition coefficients of hydrocarbons and their retention indices
烃类化合物气相色谱保留指数与其分配系数关系研究

Using the retention indices of hydrocarbons to predict the octanol\|water partition coefficients( logK ow ) is proposed. The influence of the polarity of the stationary phase on the degree of accuracy of the predicting value of the logk ow was studied. The retention indices that determined on the weak polar stationary phase can give more accurate predicting value of the logK ow. The hydrocarbon should be classified as paraffin, olefins, naphthenes and aromatics, then the ideal result can be gotten by each type of predicting formula.
