The selective catalytic reduction of NO by ammonia with fly ash catalyst
|
Abstract:
Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x with NH 3 by using fly ash catalyst was investigated. The catalytically active elements included Fe, Cu, Ni and V. The results indicated that fly ash, after pre-treating, can be reasonably used as the SCR catalyst carrier. It is possible and feasible to use fly ash catalyst to remove NO from flu gas. Active element Cu gives the highest catalytic activity and NO conversion, compared with Fe, Ni and V. In pre-treating process, the temperature of nitric acid treatment and also the temperature of trying for fly ash particle influence lightly on NO conversion. The calcination temperature is an important factor in the process of the catalyst preparation. Finally, active carbon and shale ash were used as the catalyst carrier to compare with fly ash.
