Kinetics and mechanism of pesticide imidacloprid hydrolysis

Abstract:
Kinetics of imidacloprid hydrolysis were studied at various pH values.The experimental results show that imidacloprid is stable in acid and neutral water and its hydrolysis easily takes place in basic water.By extracting and analyzing hydrolysis products,it was found that the primary hydrolysis product is 1 (6 chloro 3 pridinl)methyl] 2 imidazolidone.The hydrolysis mechanism of imidacloprid is thus proposed.
