Single and combined pollution of methamidophos, acetochlor and copper in phaiozem and its environmental safety significance
|
Abstract:
Taking phaiozem as a tested soil, the earthworm Eisenia foetida was exposed to single and binarily\|combined contamination of methamidophos, acetochlor and copper (Cu). The single toxicity test for single pollutant showed that the three chemicals has the following ranking of toxicity to earthworms: methamidophos>acetochlor>Cu. Joint toxic effects of either organic pesticide combined with Cu was very complicated and related with various combinations and different exposure time. Joint toxic effects of these two organic pesticides were synergism and also related to various concentration combinations of the two pollutants in the soil and to different exposure time. The three pollutants are thus dangerous to soil ecosystems and soil\|health quality. When the chemicals in the same soil environment act with other chemicals, they could boost up the potential danger of soil ecosystems contaminated by the three pollutants.
