PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF ANILINE WITH ZnO
|
Abstract:
The photocatalytic degradation of aniline in ZnO suspension with sunlight or xenon lamp has been studied. The effects of aniline initial concentration, catalyst amount and pH of solution on the photodegradation rate were investigated. The results indicates that the main pro ducts were o aminophenol, p aminophenol and carboxylic acids and the later will be oxidized into carbon dioxide further. The reaction accorded apparently with the first order kinetics, At conditions of pH>6 or pH<6 there are different degradation pathways producing different carboxylic acids. Without enough oxygen, the degradation rate was slow down.
