Biosorption of Pseudomonas putida 5-x cell in different growth phases on Cu~(2+) removal in industry effluent
|
Abstract:
Biosorption using microorganism as biosorbent for the removal of heavy metal ions in industrial waste effluent is a useful method The biosorption capacity to Cu2+ of P putida 5 x harvested in different growth phase was investigated The experimental results illustrated that the Cu2+ adsorption capacity of P putida 5-x cultured in sulphate limiting medium (SLM) reached minimum in log growth phase, and reached maximum in late stationary growth phase to early death phase Higher concentration Cu2+ inhibited adsorption capacity of early cell to Cu2+, but no obvious affection to late cell The results of TEM analysis implied that Cu2+ was mainly accumulated on the cell surface, and late period cells adsorbed more Cu2+ on cell surface than early period cells due to late cell has more active groups of Cu2+ adsorption on cell surface than early cell.
