A Study on the degradation path of diphenyl ketone and malachite green in water by 185nm UV irradiation
|
Abstract:
In this paper the reduction process of diphenyl ketone, malachite green, and total organic carbon (TOC) in water by using 185nm UV irradiation was studied. The effect of initial pollutant concentration, volume, flow rate and initial pH values on diphenyl ketone degradation was discussed. The effectiveness of degradation of malachite green was studied by changing initial malachite green concentration, volume, flow rate, initial pH values and concentration of added inorganic ions. The optimum condition for removal of diphenyl ketone and malachite green in water was discussed. The 185nm UV irradiation has been proved to be effective for removal of diphenyl ketone and malachite green in water with efficiency of above 99.9%. The kinetics rule for degradation of diphenyl ketone and malaclite green is discussed. The degradation reaction is found to fot for pseudo-first order reaction.
