COMPUTER SIMULATION FOR THE FLOW PATTERN OF PERIPHERAL FEED-PERIPHERAL EFFLUENT SECONDARY CLARIFIER
|
Abstract:
Secondary clarifier flow pattern is simulated by computer operation, which solves the problem of measuring secondary settler flow pattern. This method is quick and accurate and no real settling pool is needed. It is found by this method that the overflow of peripheral feed-peripheral effluent secondary settler is mainly on periphery zone of the pool where flow lines are nearly vertical and there is a large flow still area in the upper center part of the settler, which explains the reason for the low clarification capacity of this type of clarifier.
