SAFETY OF SINGLE CELL PROTIEN PRODUCED FROM PEANUT PROCESS WASTEWATER

The safety of SCP produced from peanut process wastewater with Asper-gillus oryzea Su64 and Endomycopsis fibuligera Sc85 was evaluated using mice and rats. LD50 were found to be greater than 21g/kg(po). Neither poisonous nor accumulative toxicity were found during experiments of micro-nucleus incidence of marrow cells, spermatid distortion incidence in the mice and the experiment of the accumulative toxicity.
