Solar photocatalytic oxidation of methyl orange with TiO2 suspension
|
Abstract:
The photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange in solar irradiating with TiO 2 suspension was investigated. The effects of methyl orange initial concentration, solution pH,catalyst quantity, irradiation intensity and the ration of reactor's aperture to volume( A/V ) on decolorization rate and TOC removal rate were discussed in detail. The results showed that in typical sunny day, when solar irradiation average intensity was 91600lx,initial concentration of methyl orange was 20mg/L,initial pH was 3 88, A/V is 36 m -1 ,after 2h irradiation the decolorization ration was 90% and after 4h TOC removal achieved 70%.
