SOIL BORON AND MANGANESE CONTENTS OF GRASSLAND IN THE NORTHWEST OF SICHUAN PROVINCE
川西北草原土壤硼、锰丰缺状况初探

Boron and manganese contents in 110 soil samples from grassland in the northwest of Sichuan province were investigated during past years. The data collected showed that even though the mean values of total contents of boron and manganese in soils are 166.0 ppm and 736.3 ppm respectively, which are higher than those found in soils from other regions of China, the average available soil boron and manganese, 0.45ppm and 5.11 ppm, in the area are below the critical deficiency limits. The availabilities of the soil boron and manganese are mainly influenced by soil type, soilpH and organic content.
