Experimental study on the utilization of metallic tailings as cement active admixture
|
Abstract:
Six kinds of metallic tailings fit for cement admixture were selected with loss lower than 10%, SO3 amount lower than 3% and higher content of SiO2 and Al2O3. Experiments were performed to evaluate the activeness of these metallic tailings mixed with cement clinker and anhydrlte. Metallic tailings were added by 10% , 15% ,20% ,25% and 30% respectively. The preliminary investigation showed that ration of 28 days compressive strength were between 68.72% - 76.54% with different metallic tailings addition, which were higher than identification index of 62 % . These six metallic tailings belong to active admixture. Experimental results indicated that metallic tailings could be single used as cement active admixture. Furthermore, the analysis indicated When metallic tailings were added less than 30% ,cement of 32.5R grade would be generated. When metallic tailings were added by 10% ,cement of 42.5R grade would be generated except No. 3 metallic tailings. Cement performances index met ordinary Portland cement standard. Qualified metallic tailings as cement active admixture would enlarge cement admixture resources, reduce cost of cement grinding and production and ameliorate cement performances. Utilization of metallic tailings and sustainable development of cement industry would be realized.
