Interfacial interaction between the bubbles and particles in the flotation process
|
Abstract:
The basic properties of the suspended particles in water body and the bubble nucleation process was presented, then the adsorption of the particles on the stagnant gas/liquid interface was analyzed, the interaction between the suspended particles and bubbles during flotation process was discussed, and the collision models were compared. On the basis of turbulent flotation, a new kind of dissolved air flotation method name counter current co-flocculation flotation (CCC-FF) was put forward. The interfacial interactions in the CCC-FF reactor and their influence on the turbidity removal were analyzed, and the operational parameters of the reactor were optimized. Furthermore, the comparison between the conventional and CCC-FF water purification method was carried out.
