Removal of chlorophenol from drinking water by ferrate
|
Abstract:
Utilizing the solid potassium ferrate prepared in our laboratory, the effect and impacts of removing 1-chlorophenol from water with ferrate were stuolied. The results proved that a dose for potassium ferrate 60mg/L can remove 99.3% of 4mg/L 1-chlorophenol for a 10min oxidation duration. The optimal pH range is 9-10 for ferrate oxidizing 1-chlorophenol. The reductive and oxidative reaction between ferrate and 1-chlorophenol is the kinetics with approximately second order.
