Rate constants for the reactions of ozone with dimethyl sulfide and ethene
|
Abstract:
Rate constants of the reactions of ozone with dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and ethane (C2H4) were measured at room temperature and 1.01×105Pa. Measurements were carried out in a smog chamber by using absolute method ( pseudo-first order reaction). The rate constants are KDMS=(1.48±0.12)×10-20 cm3·molecule-1·s-1and kC2H4=(1.35±0.10)×10-18 cm3·molecule-1·s-1. The value of ethane rate constant is in good agreement with that of others reported. The value of DMSconstant is about two orders of magnitude lower than that of other reported.
