Toward a Product orientated Environmental Management: Life Cycle Assessment

Based on the concept of product system, the current environmental issues are analyzed in the context of sources and trends. It is proved that all environmental issues such as the industrial pollution and ecological degradation and resources depletion are rooted from the product system. Accordingly three managing tools, end control, process control and product management were compared and analyzed. A product orientated environmental management tool, life cycle assessment is strongly proposed, and its potential application and trends are projected.
