Degradation of Endocrine Disruptor Bisphenol A in Drinking Water by Ozone Oxidation
|
Abstract:
The ozone oxidation of endocrine disruptor(bisphenol A) in drinking water was investigated. With the initial concentration of 1.0mg/L,the removal efficiency of BPA(bisphenol A) could be measure up to 70%,82%,90% when the dosage of ozone was 1mg/L,1.5mg/L,2mg/L respectively within 30 minutes. The impacts of BPA degradation under the conditions of different ozone dosages, different water background value, different BPA initial concentration and different ozone adding time were analyzed. The results show that ozone dosage play a dominant role during the process of BPA degradation, while the impact of the contact time could be ignored. The UV wavelength scanning is used to conform that the by-products were produced, which can be absorbed at UV254,and the UV254 keeps changing with the ozonation process. From the change of UV254,it can be drawn that BPA can not be completely degraded with low ozone dosage, while less adding time of total ozone dosage, high ozone dosage, improvement of dissolved ozone concentration will do great contribution to the extent of BPA degradation.
