Coagulating Performance of Cationic Polyelectrolytewith High Density Charge to Oily Sludges

Abstract:
Having been treated by cationic polyelectrolyte with high density charge(viscosityaverage molecular weight 260104,cationic character 45%), which was synthesized by using ester exchange reaction, oily sludges were separated with oil water and the cake three phase respectively, and the rate of oil recovery reached 85%, and separated water achieved the requirements about sewage draining of national standard. It was found that, the multiple flocculation action of cationic polyelectrolyte with high density charge could not only make the Zeta potential of particle surface be neutralized to 0mV, but also make the fine grains(diameter under 20 m) be effectively flocculated and swept away.
