Investigation about Formation of Products from Removal of SO2 from Simulated Gas Using Pulse Discharge*
|
Abstract:
The removal of SO2 from simulated gas is experimentally and theoretically investigated using pulse discharge.By tests on its products, the results show that under the experimental conditions(temperature 6070;chemically reactive ratio of NH3 to SO2:11),ammonium sulfate content of products is over 80%;fifty percent of products is deposited inside discharge chamber, and the rest runs out of discharge chamber, suspending among gases. The percentage of ammonium sulfate increases with the rising of voltage and quantitative ratio of ammonium sulfate deposited inside discharge chamber to that among the rest gases also increases. The conclusion that product of ammonium sulfite doesn't exit among the rest gases has been drawn by examining its thermochemical equilibrium. The following conclusions have been also drawn:The main reaction mechanism of plused corona discharge desulfurization from flue ges is that HSO-3,which is formed from reaction of NH3 and SO2,is oxidized through linereaction mechanism;the mechanism that SO2 is oxidized directly by radicals is not major.
