Study on the Relation between Maason Pine (Pinus massoniana) Affected by Aeid Rain and the Occurrence of Insect Pest
马尾松酸雨危害与次期性害虫之间关系的研究

An Attempt has been made in this research that how mas-son pines get withered in the presence of acid rain in Southwest China and that what relations exist among the pine withering, insect pests and acid rain. Tow experimental areas were selected at Nanshan forestry station, nearby Chongqing City and at Huitong ' Forest Ecological Station of Hunan Province.Different test materials (of masson pines) that had been treated with pH 2, pH 3 and pH 4.5 respectively were bound together on the trees in these areas on purpose to attract the periodic insect pests. The results showed that the materials affected by acid rain or treated with acid water were susceptible to invasion of some pests such as the weevils, cerambycids and small insects.
