Study on the Seasonal Variations in the Atmospheric Particulate Nitryte and Sulfate Concentrations in the Yanshan District of Beijing
|
Abstract:
he title study was carried out in summer and autumn, in which the seasonal variations were aslorelated to the atmospheric concentration of ozoneas a major photochemical oxidant. The resultsshow that the concentrations of nitrate and sulfatein atmospheric particulates varied significantlywith seasons, and were higher in summer that inautunm. In addition, the concentration of nitrateand sulfate were often of high values in one ortwo days before raining and in 3 or 4 days afterraining. This indicates that rainfall had a significant effect of scavenging particulates. The levelof nitrate in particulates was found to have amuch better correlation with ozone concentrationthan the level of sulfate in particulates.
