Application of Surfactant Elution Method in Remediation of Contaminated Soil with Aromatic Compounds
|
Abstract:
The effect of surfactants in removing aromatic contaminants from soil was investigated. The results showed that aromatic contaminants can be removed effectively from soil by elution with surfactants. The elution efficiency of phenol and nitrobenzene from soil by sodium laurylbenzosulfonate were 93 97% and 78 74% respectively. The elution efficiency for the main contaminants in situ soil sample was higher than 90%.
