THE MUTUAL PREDATORY RELATIONSHIP OF JELLYFISHES IN DIFFERENT LIFE STAGES BETWEEN AURELIA sp.1 AND RHOPILEMA ESCULENTA
生活史不同阶段的海月水母(Aurelia sp.1)与海蜇(Rhopilema esculenta)的相互捕食关系

A laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate the predator-prey relationship at different life stages between Aurelia sp.1 and Rhopilema esculenta.The results showed that Scyphistomae of Aurelia sp.1,with 1mm oral disk diameter,could prey on ephyrae and medusa of R.esculenta whose oral disk was no more than 8mm in diameter;and in the ephyrae larval stage,Aurelia sp.1 was able to prey on R.esculenta’s;Aurelia sp.1 medusa with 100mm bell diameter could still feed upon both ephyrae larval and early medusa(bell diameter ≤ 30mm) of R.esculenta.However,the early medusa of R.esculenta whose umbrella diameter was no less than 10mm could absolutely prey on Aurelia sp.1 ephyrae larval.Aurelia sp.1 had stronger ability to prey on R.esculenta.These results revealed the relationship between the outbreak of Aurelia sp.1 and the decrease of R.esculenta resource.It was helpful to improve the effect of releasing R.esculenta.
