MICROANALYSIS OF FLUORINE IN FLUOROPOLYMERS

Abstract:
A simple, rapid and accurate method is presented for the micro-analysis of fluorine element in fluoropolymers. Fluoropolymers and CF3-containing organic compounds are quantitatively decomposed and titrated. The titration reaction is a stoichiometric one and has a sharp end-point. The absolute error of this method is ±0.3%. Interferences of SO4=, PO4(?), AsO2- (or AsO4(?)) and CO3(?) can be eliminated by a simple procedure. This method is suitable for microanalysis of F element in C, H, 0, N, Cl Br, I, Si, S,P,As-containing fluoropolymers.
