STUD IES ON THE POL YMER IZATON OF METHYL METHACRYLATE INITIATED BY "ARBUTUS" CURRIC POLYCARBOXYLATE/SOD IUM SULFITE SYSTEM
|
Abstract:
The polymerization of methyl methacrylate in aqueous solution is initiated by cupric polypropylene-graft polycarboxylate/sodium sulfite system. The overall polymerization rate can be expressed asThe polymerization is proceeded by free radical mechanism. The primary radicals are formed by the process of "complexation - hydrogen transformation" between cupric polycarboxylate/sodium sulfite/methyl methacrylate.
