MEASUREMENT OF GAS PERMEABILITY OF PTFE TUBES

A cell for determining gas permeability of polymer tubes is designed, and a gas chromatographic method is used to measure the gas permeability of PTFE tubes. It is found that the permeation of gas through PTFE tubes, which contain a large amount of extrusion aid before their sintering, is a process of diffusion and the permeability can be strongly influenced by the change of morphological structure.
