THE MOLECULAR WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS OF THE POLYMERS GENERATED IN ANIONIC POLYMERI-ZATION INITIATED BY ELECTRON TRANSFER

Abstract:
The molecular weight distribution of anionic polymerization system initiated by electron transfer and the influence of monomer transfer on the polymerization were treated theoretically. The exact expressions of molecular weight distribution function are derived according to Pepper's kinetic scheme. In the case when vinyl mesitylene is initiated by sodium-naphthalene in tetrahydrofurane, the results of theoretical computations are very close to the experimental data reported.
