Suspension of Carbon Nanotubes Prepared by Non-covalent Functionalization with Surfactants

Abstract:
A series of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) suspensions with an initial concentration of 2 g/L were prepared by non-covalent functionalization of CNTs with SDBS, SLS, SDS, Brij35, CTAB surfactants in water with the aid of ultrasonication, respectively, and characterized. Based on the qualitative analysis via FT-IR and TGA techniques, it is concluded that surfactants are adsorbed onto the surface of CNTs after functionalization.
