SYNTHESIS OF MACROPOROUS POLY-a-VINYLPYRIDINE RESINS AND ITS REMOVAL OF UNCONJUGATED BILIRUBIN
|
Abstract:
Macroporous poly-vinylpyridine resins with quaternary ammonium group were synthesized and the relationship between the ratio of crosslinking and diluent used was studied. Experimental results showed that resins with high specific surface area could be obtained with 10% crosslinking agent and 200% diuent. Removal of bilirubin by the above resin was 91%. The blood compatible properties were not satisfactory and 50% leukocytes and erythocytes remained after 2 hrs. of circulation.
