Study on Principle and Simulation of Extending of Depth of Field with Phase Plate

Abstract:
The principle of extending of depth of field was studied,it is analyzed the reasons that the imaging of wavefront coding system is insensitive to defocus,obtains a formula of extension ratio of the depth of field(DOF) for wavefront coding imaging system,and discovers the relationship between the extension ratio of the DOF and the parameters of the phase plate of the wavefront coding system.A wavefront coding optical system is designed by Zemax,and a simulating imaging experiment is made by Matlab.The experimental results indicate that a wavefront coding system is able to extend the DOF of the optical system,and the extension ratio is determined by the phase constant of the cubic plate.
