Potential Applications of Ag-microtubes Modified Polymer Crystal Optical Fibres as Chemical and Optical Sensor Materials
|
Abstract:
By adjusting the reaction condition of silver mirror reaction in the air holes of MPOF,nanotubular or nanoisland shape modified Ag-MPOF are obtained.SEM images show that when the reaction solution is higher, the morphology of silver is tubular. This Ag-MPOF composite fiber has favourable conductivity and could be used as array electrode in electroanalysis. The results show that this fiber display high active in sensing nitrate or nitrite ions which usually cause cancers in waste water. When the concentration of reaction solution is lower, the Ag-MPOF with island-like silver nanoparticles is obtained. The fluorescence of dye molecules could be greatly enhanced if it is put into the modified holes of this Ag-MPOF.
