Sagnac Fiber-Optic Current Sensor Without Vibration Sensitivity
|
Abstract:
A method is proposed in order to eliminate the vibration sensitivity of Sagnac fiber-optic current sensor. The Sagnac fiber-optic current sensor has not only the sensitivity of Sagnac effect. And thus the fact that the vibration outside could significantly affect the accuracy of current measurement, limiting its application. For eliminat the vibration sensitivity, a light path improved method is propose, which makes discharge of Sagnac effect with Sagnact effect iteself and do not disturb Farady effect at all. Then the polarization states of the lights spreeding in the improved light path are analyzed with Jones matrix. The results are good agreement with the results of experiment, they show that the output of the improved sensor has nothing to do with vibration. After the coupling of the half-waveplate in sensing fiber, the vibration sensitivity of Sagnac fiber-optic current sensor has been eliminated. A feasible method for the practical use of Sagnac fiber-optic current sensor is provided.
