Segmentation Algorithm for Infrared Dim Small Targets Based on Double Window

Abstract:
A method of image segmentation for dim small targets in infrared image is proposed.Images are segmented by using double window and contrast threshold.The method can efficiently segmente the low SNR small multi targets in the infrared image of the clouds sky background and suppress the noise. The algorithm and traditional fix threshold algorithm are compared.The result of different thresholds and different windows are analysed.Experiment results indicate that the algorithm can obtain satisfied result on execution efficiency and detection probability.
