Discharge of Pulse Xenon Lamps

Abstract:
High speed framing photography was used in the process of flashlamp discharge.The research displayed that the channel expanded fast and inhomogeneous,and the duration of extinction was longer than that of expansion.The discharge processes with pre-ionization and without pre-ionization were compared.The results show that pre-ionization is favorable to channel expansion,and helps to reduce the damage to the tube and enhance the radiation efficiency of xenon lamp.
