Generation of Bottle Beams Through Focused Partially Coherent Lights by a Lens with Spherical Aberration
|
Abstract:
Based on the Collins formula, the beam intensity distribution in the neighborhood of the geometrical focus of the partially coherent beams which spatial degree of coherence is Bessel function of zero order passing through lens with spherical aberration, were investigated. The research result shows that flat-topped beams or bottle beams can be acquired by changing spectral degree of coherence or spherical aberration coefficient. The best focal point is determined by the spherical aberration coefficient, and will shift away from the lens with the accretion of positive spherical aberration coefficient, even exceed the geometrical focal point. However, the best focal point would shift towards the lens with accretion of absolute value of negative spherical aberration coefficient. Moreover, The intensity distribution can be binary symmetry when the positive spherical aberration coefficient is equal to the absolute value of negative spherical aberration coefficient.
