Study on Influence of Chromatic Aberrations on Vision Performance Based on Individual Eye Model
|
Abstract:
The influence of ocular chromatic aberrations on vision performance was investigated based on individual eye model. The correction of the defocus, astigmatism and higher-order aberrations of human eye was simulated with the optical design software Zemax. Vision improvement achieved by vision correction is restricted considerably by the chromatic aberrations of human eye. At middle and higher spatial frequency, the MTF (modulation transfer function) in natural light is about 50% of that in monochromatic light. In natural light, visual acuity of 1.5 is achieved by customized vision correction theoretically, as compared with the acquired visual acuity of 1.2 by conventional correction, which is far away from the expected super-vision.
