Polarization Dependence Couple Ratio of Fused Polarization Maintaining Optical Fiber Couplers

Abstract:
The polarization dependence couple ratio of fused polarization maintaining optical fiber couplers is verified experimentally.The couple-mode theory of fused single-mode-fiber couple is employed to calculate the couple coefficient of fused polarization maintaining optical fiber couplers.It is shown that the couple ratio of fast axis and slow axis could be use to calculate the couple ratio of arbitrary angles under a simple functional relation,which is found through the experimental data for launching a monochromatic linear polarized light in special angles.Furthermore,that function could be interpreted as disassembling orthogonally of the amplitude vector for the electric field.
