Superstructured Fiber Bragg Grating and Nonlinear Amplifying Loop Mirror Based on OCDM System
|
Abstract:
40 Gbit/s×2 channel OCDM system based on superstructured fiber Bragg grating (SSFBG) was experimentally investigated.A nonlinear amplifying loop mirror (NALM) within the receiver was introduced to reshape the decoded pulse and suppress interference noise. The original 7.7 ps decoded pulse was compressed to 3.6 ps as well as interference noise was suppressed effectively by exploiting nonlinear switch characteristic of the NALM,and switching was obtained for peak signal power approximately 6 mW.From the experimental results,it can be concluded that the performance of SSFBG based on OCDM system was improved by using the NALM,and high speed all optical encoding and decoding with noise suppression was required in optical packet-switched networks.
