Sidelobe Suppresion of Mechanically-induced Long-period Fiber Gratings
|
Abstract:
A new method to optimize mechanically-induced long-period fiber grating (MLPFG) transmission spectra was demonstrated.By the mechanism designed by ourselves,MLPFGs were written by point-contact pressure, and the n-dimensional modulation of MLPFG are realized by the V-M deformation of pressure plates.Sidelobes in MLPFG transmission spectrum are suppressed effectively:when the loss of LP05 reaches 9.0 dB,the sidelobe suppression ration is larger than 8.6 dB.Meanwhile,a method of monitoring the stress distribution along the grating fibers is given by the air film equal thickness interference, which offers effective parameters for MLPFG n-dimensional modulation.
