Edge detection algorithm for error-diffused color halftones

Abstract:
An edge detection algorithm was presented for error-diffused color halftones.K-L transformation was first used to transform (R,G,B) color space into another orthogonal color Space (I1,I2,I3).Then the grayscale image of I was constructed,which comprised all edges in three monochromatic images. Finally multiscale edge detector mask was designed to obtain the edges in I.Experiments show that it has a better halftone noise robustness than traditional edge detection methods,and it can find edges of color halftones quickly and accurately.
