Technique of 3-D Carrier Modulation in ESPI and its Application in Displacement Measurement of Diesel Engine

Abstract:
The technique of three-dimensional(3-D) carrier modulation in ESPI is applied to the measurement of three-dimensional displacement.The object is illuminated by three coherent lights from the horizontal,the vertical and the normal direction respectively.The carrier in horizontal and in vertical direction is introduced by rotating reflectors a small angle to obtain the modulation of displacement field.And the out-of plane displacement field can be modulated by rotating object with a small angle.The phase fields of deformation can be demodulated by Fourier transform method respectively,which offer an accurate 3-D measurement results.3-D displacement fields of oil pump of diesel engine are measured successfully by the technique presented.
