ATMOSPHERIC CORROSION OF CARBON STEELS AND LOW ALLOY STEELS

Abstract:
Results from & years atmospheric exposure of 17 types of steel at 7 sites in China were summarized. The corrosion rates of the steels may all be described with the kenetic formular of D=Atn. The possibility of predicting long term corrosion behavior from short term data were discussed. The main factors effecting the atmospheric corrosivity and the effect of alloy elements on the corrosion resistance were also analized.
