AN INVESTIGATION ON SOIL CORROSION BEHAVIOUR OF MILD STEEL IN THREE GORGES STATION
|
Abstract:
Analyses and measurements for two kinds of mild steel buried in a station at the site of Three Gorges by Chang Jiang River for 33 years were made. The results indicated that these samples had the characteristics of local corrosion. Local corrosion ocurred in welding seam and metallurgical defects. Corrosion products consisted of FeO(OH), FeCO 3, Fe 3O 4, Fe 2O 3 and some irons salts.
