DETERMINATION OF TETRATHIONATE BY DECOMPOSITION OF SODIUM HYDROXIDE

A method has been proposed for the detemination of tetrathionate. It is based on the formation of mixture of thiosulfate and sulfite by means of its hydroxide decomposition and then the spectrophotometric measurement of an excess iodine as triodide for the reaction with the thiosulfate and sulfite. The method has been used in practical application.
