CORROSION RESISTANCE OF ELECTROLESS Ni-Cr-P PLATING IN NaCl SOLUTION
|
Abstract:
The corrosion resistance of electroless Ni\|Cr\|P plating which comprises of about 9at% Cr was studied in 3.5% NaCl solution with electrochemical method. The anodic polarization curves for Ni\|Cr\|P alloy are similar to that for Ni\|P alloy. Compared with Ni\|P alloy, the corrosion potential shifts in noble direction more than 120 mV, the corrosion current is 3 times lower and anodic current in passivation region decreases by one order of magnitude. The results showed that the corrosion resistance of Ni\|Cr\|P plating is improved by the addition of chromium.
