MIGRATION OF VARIOUS INORGANIC ANIONS AND THEIR EFFECTS ON OCCLUDED CORROSION CELL
|
Abstract:
Simulated occluded cells were used to study the migration of inowc anions such as cG-. M&-.wG-and their effects on occluded cormsion of mild steel (A3) in O.Olml/L NaCl solution at 50C . It was found that with anodic currents passing the cell, all the anions migrated into the occluded cell. The quantity of migration increased with the time and the concentration, and wd,-was the slowest. They canretard the migration of C1- effectively above a certain concentration, The hlgher the concentration, the nwe efficient they were, cG-was the best. c&- and W4-caused pH fall faster. The effect of was distinctly, while wG-had the effect of retarding pH fall.
