CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF LANTHANUM CONTANING ALUMINIZED STEEL IN H2S SOLATION

Abstract:
The influence of rare earth lanthanum on the microstructure of hot dip aluminizing coating on carbon steel and its corrosion resistance in H 2S solution were studied. The results show that the aluminum rich layer in the coating becomes thicker with the increase of the rare earth content in the bath. The corrosion resistance is enhanced when rare earth is added.The hot dip coating with 0 8% rare earth possesses the best corrosion resistance and it is about 3 times as much as that of without rare earth.
