SOLID STATE REACTION AND MASS TRANSFER FOR SULFIDE SCALE ON Fe Mo ALLOY DURING SULFIDATION
|
Abstract:
A discussion has been made on the solid state reaction and scale structure for Fe Mo alloy, according to the results through XRD, SEM/WDS and TEM observations. A hypothetical stable phase diagram is presented. The correlation between the defect properties of the formed sulfides and the mass transfer process was also elucidated. Inside the complicated sulfides of Fe and Mo existed higher density of defect, thus these phases did not serve as the main phases to resist the mass transfer during sulfidation. Instead, the MoS 2 layer with much less defect density was the most important product to deter sulfidation.
