AN APPARATUS FOR EVALUATING CORROSION TENDENCY OF WELDED JOINTS

A potential measuring apparatus using tungsten microprobe has been designed and constructed,which is composed of reference microprobe,scanning mechanical device,electrolytic cell,analog-digital converter and computer.The apparatus is simple but can evaluate the distribution of free corrosion potenftial on the surface of welded joints.Tungsten microprobe is used in the apparatus,and it is confirmed by experiments that the stability and reproducibility of tungsten microprobe meet the requirements of measuring the corrosion potentials on metal surfaces in acid environment.
